Airfield ICAO Codes and Aircraft Registration prefixes by Country
The data below shows the ICAO airfield codes and Aircraft Prefixes for each country. A brief description of each data column is appended below.
| Airfield ICAO |
Every airport ICAO code is a four letter group. Only the letters that uniquely identify each country are only shown here - e.g. EG for the UK or K for the USA. The remaining letters identify individual airports and are not included. |
| Region |
AFR-Africa EUR -Europe NAM -North America CAM -Central America SAM -South America MID - Middle East FAE -Far East PAC -Pacific This is a rough grouping only. I use it to organise the airlines in FS2004. |
| Registration Prefix |
The letters/numbers that are unique to each country. These are sometimes separated by a hyphen on aircraft e.g. PH-MAR |
| Registration Suffix |
The remaining registration code unique to each aircraft. These can be letters or numbers - or a combination of both. The suffix identifies how many characters are used and of which type. e.g. 123ab indicates three numbers and two letters follow the registration prefix. Note: The Laos and Panama registrations are too long for FS2004. |
